Are You Using The Love Drug?

You’re shooting yourself in the foot If you’re the parent of a baby and are not taking advantage of this love drug.

Oxytocin.

This hormone is dubbed ‘The Love Drug’. Women generally have higher amounts than men, but both make it. It’s effect is the following: calming, soothing, nurturing, bonding, immune system boosting.

Skin to skin contact and breastfeeding are two of the best ways to transfer the power of this hormone to your baby.

It is logical to consider the potency of Oxytocin from the parent to give to their child is directly related to the amount they have within themselves.
Things that will increase your levels of oxytocin, so you can give more of it to others:

  • Skin to skin contact (helps the baby, and also yourself)
  • Gratitude - start and end your day being thankful for your blessings
  • Prayer
  • Being out in God’s nature. Go for walks along the beach or in wooded trails.
  • Chiropractic Adjustment

Whenever your child is not themselves in any way - fill them up with this natural ‘love drug’ through the power of mum and dad’s touch.
